On my previous post I mentioned about an impromptu cheesecake to celebrate my brother’s birthday, right? It was a big hit! A success! 😀

Cookies & Cream Cheesecake

I was very, very, I repeat, very pessimistic about the outcome coz (1) there was no real plan or preparation; none; nil.* (2) Besides, the only cake I have made before is the light and fluffy Japanese Cheesecake. This is the first New York Cheesecake I have ever made. :p

The thought to make a cake for his birthday came across at about 8.30pm; by 9 I decided to make New York Cheesecake, and then I spent another hour for recipe research, preps, stretching and relaxing (Yo, I just got home what :p ) It’s a good thing I’ve been stacking up baking supplies  (´∀｀) (3) Remember the Oreo cookies I made the other day? I made Oreo cheesecake out of it! 😀

Well, not exactly the same cookies~ I made a new batch for the base coz I ate most of them already~ didn’t have much left （。≧ω≦。）
To shorten the baking process, I didn’t make the base out of crushed and buttered ready-to-eat cookies (coz then I will have to bake my bite-sized cookies first and then crush it, so pointless right?); instead, (4) I made one big bowl-shaped cookie 😀

I used PHILLY OREO Cheesecake recipe from Kraft’s website, but I replaced the cookies with my homemade version (I have no idea how much cookies I used, to be honest) and also replaced the sour cream with plain yoghurt.

I covered it with whipped cream (my first whipped cream! yaayy!) and cocoa powder. I accidentally mixed the remaining whip cream with cocoa powder.. and so there goes the off-colored writings~ XD

* A lot of things happened that day (25 Oct): it was a regular working day til 5pm, gym til 6pm, dentist appointment at 7pm, waited an hour in vain for taxi (in the end my bro had to pick me up) and on top of them all; I was carrying 10 kg of mango(I bought them from a colleague, just in case you’re wondering what the hell I was doing with those mango at work). ｡｡｡｡(〃_ _)σ

My older bro thinks this one’s okay, but he preferred my japanese cheesecake. On the other hand, my dad and my little brother loves it~ o(≧▽≦)o♪  he twitted it! 😀 and here he twitted about it again. How sweet of him :”>
